Television Advertisement (20 marks)

Please remember that you must have each phase of a product (Investigation, Design, Production) signed off by your regular teacher before you proceed to the next phase of that product.

Outline
You are to produce a brief television advertisement to advertise your product to the general public. Kahootz is NOT acceptable for this task.

Investigation

Watch a variety of television advertisements whether you think they are good or bad.

Record:

  • how long the advertisement lasts
  • what information is provided in the advertisement
  • how the advertisement attempts to persuade you to purchase the product advertised.

Design
ON PAPER ...Prepare a storyboard for your advertisment and list what information you are planning to present and the order in which it will be presented. Also list your plans for each section including visuals, audio, and text.

Production
Publish your file to create a .swf file which should then be submitted via the intranet. If any external files (such as movies) are accessed via this file then you will need to put everything in the one folder and zip the folder before submitting.

Evaluation

Those group members not involved in the production of this advertisement should write a report indicating

  • - the good features of the advertisement
  • - what could have been improved

Remember that you need to be critical but also constructive. Try to be particular in your analysis.
