The Course
Students are asked to analyse existing games and styles of games before designing their own game and using a program called Game Maker to create this game. This game will then be evaluated by other students.
Game Maker is freeware and therefore free for anyone to download and install on their home computers.
Game making utilises the full potential of the computer and requires skill development in multimedia and programming to achieve success. To develop a good game requires higher order thinking. Designing and making your own game for an audience is an engaging activity that embraces all the essential learning skills.
